The Dual Diagnosis Program is designed for patients who have an active chemical dependency problem, as well as, a co-occurring psychiatric diagnosis. Patients are medically detoxed while simultaneously addressing their psychiatric condition.
For those patients who are chemically dependent but do not have an active psychiatric diagnosis, a medically-monitored addiction detox is initiated. Both programs offer special attention to comfort while the patient is withdrawing from alcohol or other drugs. In addition, education is key. A relapse prevention plan is initiated prior to discharge to maintain sobriety and patients are quickly connected to outpatient groups or programs to help in this process.
