The Two Rivers Renaissance Program offers comprehensive mental health treatment for adults, age 55 and older.  These adults often experience the onset or worsening of mental health symptoms attributed to changes in their physical, social, and cognitive functioning. 

   

The Renaissance Program addresses the following issues related to mental health disorders:

 

    • Depression

    • Panic and anxiety

    • Persistent fear and/or paranoia

    • Obsessions

    • Psychosis

    • Alzheimer-related dementia

    • Memory problems

    • Grief and loss

    • Withdrawal and isolative behaviors

    • Loss of appetite and weight

    • Anger, aggression, and combativeness

    • Sleeplessness

 
 

Two Rivers offers a comprehensive treatment approach that stabilizes acute psychiatric problems. 
Our multidisciplinary treatment team consists of psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, social workers, expressive therapists (recreation, music, and/or art), case managers, and dieticians.

   
bult01 This team provides the following services:
 
  • Crisis intervention, intensive assessment, acute care stabilization

  • Evaluation, recommendation, education and management of mental health (psychotropic) and physical health medications. The management of physical health medications is coordinated with the patient’s primary care physician or specialists.

  • Neuropsychological evaluation, recommendation, and treatment

  • Experiential therapy services that assist patients in developing coping skills.  Recovery tools include art, music, relaxation, stress management,  and recreation.

  • Education and therapy groups to increase ones understanding of emotional problems and assist in developing healthy coping skills to manage stress

  • Competency evaluations including cognitive and memory evaluations

  • Guardianship assistance

  • Power of Attorney information

  • Comprehensive discharge planning  with possible suggestions for referrals to outpatient providers

  • Nursing home referrals, placement assistance education, and therapy groups that guide patients in understanding emotional problems and in developing healthy coping skills
