The Two Rivers Spectrum Adult Services (SAS) Program treats adults with psychiatric/mental health disorders that are acute and chronic. Origins of these disorders are the result of neuro-chemical imbalances in the brain/body, environmental stressors, and learned patterns of functioning.

Mental health disorders include the following: |

- Mood: Major depressive and bipolar disorders
- Anxiety: Generalized anxiety, panic, post traumatic stress (PTSD), phobia, conversion and obsessive compulsive disorders
- Thought: Schizophrenia, schizoaffective, and psychotic disorders
- Personality disorders

Two Rivers offers a comprehensive treatment approach to stabilize acute psychiatric problems for adults, 18 years and older. Our multidisciplinary treatment team leads this effort. The team consists of psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, social workers, counselors, addiction counselors, expressive therapists (recreation, music, and/or art), and case managers. Supportive services for patients are provided within a dedicated environment.

Adult services include: |

- Crisis intervention, intensive assessment, acute care stabilization
- Evaluation, recommendation, education and management of mental health (psychotropic) medications
- Cognitive behavioral, education and therapy groups that assists in understanding emotional problems and developing healthy coping skills to manage and prevent a recurrence of acute depressive, anxiety, manic and/or psychotic symptoms
- Experiential therapy services that facilitate the development of recovery coping skills. Techniques include art, music, relaxation, stress management and recreation
- Suicide intervention, prevention, and treatment
- Comprehensive discharge planning and referral to less restrictive levels of care such as partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient therapy/counseling and/or psychiatric-assisted medication management
- Referral and placement into residential care facility, shelter, group or nursing home environments
- Family discharge planning sessions targeted at informing family members of discharge planning recommendations and educating them regarding mental health disorders and long term care treatment recommendations
