Adolescent Intensive Outpatient
Program
Two Rivers Psychiatric Hospital
recognizes the obstacles and challenges faced by the youth of today in terms of
mental health and chemical dependency issues.
The Hospital has developed a dual
focused program designed for adolescents who need more than outpatient therapy,
but don't meet criteria for a higher level of care.
This cognitive therapy based
program meets three evenings per week and typically lasts 4-6 weeks.
Program Components
COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY
including: managing emotions, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, shame,
self-awareness, and body image.
TOPICS GROUPS
including: grief and loss, anger management, relationship/sexuality issues, goal
development and achievement.
CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY AND ABUSE
including: alcohol education, substance abuse education, peer pressure, genetic
predisposition, and introduction to 12-Step Programming.
MULTIDISCIPLINARY FAMILY GROUP
PROCESS:
weekly meeting involving parents and other care givers to develop healthy coping
mechanisms, boundaries, and limits.

- Innovative Treatment approaches requiring patient participation,
interaction, and compliance
- Family Group Night
- Drug Free treatment environment
- Coordination/Continuation of treatment with outpatient providers
Philosophy of Treatment
The foundation of Two Rivers¹
treatment philosophy is that recovery begins with abstinence. Continued recovery
is maintained through one¹s commitment to an ongoing program, including
counseling, participation in AA/NA and social support. Treatment Plans will be
based on the individual needs of the patient.
Two Rivers Hospital provides
inpatient, day, and intensive outpatient treatment programs for Adults,
Adolescents and Children. Specialty programs include: Neuro-Behavioral Program
for Adolescents, Dual Diagnosis and addictions Treatment, and a program for
Trauma-Based Disorders.
