Adult Intensive Outpatient
Program - Mental Health
Two Rivers Psychiatric Hospital is dedicated to
providing quality mental health services through our Intensive Outpatient
Program. Offered as an alternative or step-down to inpatient hospitalization,
Two Rivers' Intensive Outpatient Program provides adults with intensive,
structured treatment and educational support without being removed from their
family and community settings. This program is focused on healthy living skills
and management of emotions.
Philosophy of Treatment
The Intensive Outpatient Program for Adult Mental
Health is effective for people who have mental health issues as well as those
who have trauma in their background. Treatment services in the IOP will be
delivered by a multidisciplinary team of professionals.
Program Elements Include:
- Status Group - reviews the use of ineffective coping skills vs. the use
of new, more effective skills and how emotions, urges, flashbacks and
nightmares are impacted as a result.
- DBT Group - offers psychosocial skills training to increase emotion
regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and core
mindfulness.
- Topics Group - provides psycho-education on such issues as shame, grief
and anger.
- Cognitive Therapy Group - Identifies cognitive distortions and
facilitates healthier ways of thinking.
-
Anger management and relaxation
techniques are also taught.
Two
Rivers' Intensive Outpatient Program for Adult Mental Health was established to
provide exemplary clinical care to its participants. The administrative and
professional staff recognizes the importance of considering the influence of
individual, family, community, and social factors, and the dynamic interaction
of these influences in the treatment process. All patients are treated with
dignity, respect and compassion.
