Two Rivers Behavioral Health System participates in most insurance plans including Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICAREĀ®. Your Assessment Referral Coordinator will help determine appropriateness for your specific insurance plan.
What is involved in the Admissions process?
The first step is to call an Assessment Referral Coordinator. This call can be placed through our main number (816) 382-6300 or toll free (800) 225-8577. Calls are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Where is Two Rivers Behavioral Health System located?
Two Rivers is in Kansas City, MO, approximately two miles south of Arrowhead Stadium. The address is 5121 Raytown Road, Kansas City, MO 64133.
What happens when I arrive?
You will be asked to complete a patient profile which will be used to complete your medical screen and mental health screen.
What do I need to bring?
Your safety and that of other patients, staff, and visitors is of utmost concern. It is recommended that you come to your assessment prepared to stay. You may bring up to three changes of clothing and toiletry items. Fold clothing (no hangers) and place in non-plastic containers.
Is there anything I cannot bring to the hospital?
When you arrive, hospital staff will review your items and help determine appropriateness on a case-by-case basis.
Below is a listing of things you cannot bring to the facility. This listing is not all inclusive and subject to change.
- pillows, blankets, fluffy slippers and stuffed animals are not allowed (for infection control reasons)
- Food and/or drinks
- Cell phones
- Cash greater than $20.00
- Purses
- Sharps, firearms, or weapons of any kind
- Drugs and/or alcohol
- MP3 players, I-Pods, CD players, headphones, radios, televisions, etc.
- Jewelry
- Cigarettes, lighters
- Shoelaces, belts, drawstrings, hooded sweatshirts, belts, scarves, or ties
- Plastic bags of any kind
- More than three changes of clothing
- Toiletries in glass or plastic containers
- Razors
What are the visitation hours?
Visitation hours are individualized for each unit. A current schedule of visitation hours is available in the lobby.
